It’s guaranteed to bring smiles to your face, as you wind down 2018 and get ready to kick off 2019. The annual Holiday Bowl Parade is on Monday, Dec. 31, and we will be part of the pomp and circumstance at both the parade in the morning and the game in the afternoon.
Marching in the parade with us this year will be “First Down and College Bound” squad – a group of local first-generation, college-bound students. When they walk by, please give them a round of applause and help us get them all fired up about going to college!
Later in the day, we will also be hosting these students at the Holiday Bowl game at SDCCU Stadium so they can enjoy the full range of festivities.
Also making an appearance in the parade will be our clean transportation program – as represented by a Chevy Bolt and a large balloon featuring our “It’s On” branding. The 100% electric Bolt is part our company fleet and is one of more than 33,000 electric vehicles (EV) on the road in our region today.
We are making major investments to expand the EV charging network locally to help solve the problem of range anxiety. Learn more at sdge.com/EV.
Weather Forecast for Monday
Bring an umbrella or raincoat with you for the parade, as there is a chance of rain on Monday morning. Be there or be square!
Special thanks to local non-profits who partner with us to help underserved students succeed in school and life: Somali Bantu Association, Neighborhood House Association, Electrical Workers Minority Caucus, Jackie Robinson YMCA, and Lincoln High School’s football team and Fire Science Program.
