SDG&E Media Statement on the County of San Diego’s Renewable Energy Plan

On Feb. 15, 2017, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors will vote on whether to move forward with its renewable energy plan. In response, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) issued the following media statement.

“SDG&E is at the forefront on delivering results that help to achieve a healthier tomorrow. We show our commitment each day through the delivery of approximately 43 percent of our energy from renewable resources in 2016, our efforts to make it easier for our customers to drive electric vehicles to reduce the 50 percent of emissions from the transportation sector, and our work to seamlessly integrate more than 100,000 private solar systems.”

“We support the broader goals of the County’s Comprehensive Renewable Energy Plan. We do believe that our company can help and have asked the Board of Supervisors to remain open-minded about how SDG&E’s programs, and expertise in addressing climate change, can be leveraged to help our communities achieve the vision of healthier air.”

“SDG&E actively works to make all customers aware of services that may benefit them.”
