Santa Ana Conditions Forecast for Weekend

Santa Ana Conditions Forecast for Weekend

According to SDG&E’s meteorologists, high temperatures, low humidity and high winds are expected to impact most communities east of Interstate 15 this weekend. With peak winds forecast to reach 30–40 mph, the Santa Ana conditions will also bring an increased fire risk to the region.

At SDG&E, delivering safe, reliable power to our customers is our top priority and a responsibility we take very seriously. As a precaution, we have pre-staged crews in the areas where winds are expected to be strongest. This move will enable our highly trained employees to monitor conditions in real-time for potential impacts to our system, such as flying debris, and respond more quickly if an outage  occurs.

While our crews will be doing everything possible to ensure our customers receive the power they need, some outages may not  be avoided. To prepare for any potential outage, we suggest customers make sure they have a flashlight, spare batteries, a battery-operated radio and a phone that doesn’t require electricity.

We are encouraging customers in eastern San Diego communities to monitor real-time weather conditions and get updates on weather-related outages at SDGE.com/weatheroutage or call us at 800-411-7343.
