Report Shows San Diego Making Significant Progress on Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions

The City of San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer was joined by business and community leaders on Nov. 10, including San Diego Gas & Electric, to announce that the City has slashed emissions by 17 percent since 2010.

SDG&E’s push to expand the share of renewable energy use was attributed as one of the reasons for the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Of the energy SDG&E currently delivers to its customers, 35 percent is from renewable sources, and by 2020, SDG&E is forecasted to meet a 45 percent renewable portfolio standard.
