A taste of hospitality

Last month, we partnered with Junior Achievement and leaders in the hospitality industry to give a little taste of a successful career in one of San Diego’s fastest growing sectors – hospitality and tourism.

The 19th Annual Hospitality Conference and Career Fair was kicked-off with inspirational guest speaker and winner of MasterChef, Claudia Sandoval, and featured job-shadowing, interactions with top industry professionals and the opportunity to fill out applications and secure summer job opportunities.

SDG&E is a proud supporter of non-profit organizations with programs aimed at developing workforce readiness for our next generation of leaders.

“The conference opens student minds to a future in the hospitality industry,” said Luis Barrios, General Manager of Hilton San Diego Airport at Harbor Island. “They learn they can be general managers, executive chefs but also lawyers, architects, engineers and marketing professionals.
