Kicking Off the “Season of Giving” with Junior Achievement

With Halloween in the rearview, that means only one thing—the holiday season is in full swing.

As we prepare to spend time with family, friends and loved ones this winter, at SDG&E, we’re also getting ready for another exciting holiday tradition: Season of Giving.

Each year, employees have the opportunity to team up to earn a grant through The Sempra Energy Foundation for a local charity of their choice by volunteering during the holidays. Hundreds of employees hurry for the chance to give back to their favorite organization, planning events with more than 40 non-profits in November and December.

One of the first 2017 Season of Giving events was with Junior Achievement San Diego at Ibarra Elementary in City Heights. 16 volunteers from the Sempra family spent the day with students from kindergarten to fifth grade sharing “real life” lessons on everything from saving your allowance, to getting a job and even starting your own business.
