With peak wildfire season just around the corner, we are inviting North County residents to attend a Wildfire Safety Fair tomorrow (Aug. 24) at the Ramona Community Center, where attendees will enjoy free ice cream, food and opportunity drawings for $250 Costco gift cards.
The fair will take place 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 434 Aqua Lane.
This is the second of three Wildfire Safety Fairs that we are holding to help everyone get prepared with emergency plans and emergency kits. Experts in wildfire safety and resiliency will be on hand to answer questions and share important information to protect your family and property.
We will be giving out FREE emergency kit backpacks stuffed with supplies. Inside the backpacks are medical-grade face masks, water pouches, bandages, flash light, duct tape, energy bar packs, toilet paper, rain poncho, whistle, light stick, and other items.
Hear from Wildfire Safety and Resilience Experts
Also speaking at the event will be Sandra Younger, a 2003 Cedar Fire survivor and author of The Fire Outside My Window. Younger works with disaster survivors and is a frequent speaker on the topic of resilience and transforming disasters into opportunities.
