Free SDG&E Emergency Kit Backpacks being Handed Out

Wildfire Safety Fair Taking Place in Alpine on Saturday, Sept. 14

With peak wildfire season right around the corner, we are inviting Alpine and surrounding area community members to attend the Wildfire Safety Fair taking place on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Alpine Community Center, where attendees will enjoy free ice cream, hot dogs, and a chance to enter raffle prize drawings to win $250 Costco gift cards.

The Alpine Wildfire Safety Fair will take place 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 1830 Alpine Blvd.

The fairs are set up to help everyone get prepared with emergency plans and emergency kits. Experts in wildfire safety and resiliency will be on hand to answer questions and share important information about how to protect your family and property.

We will be giving out FREE emergency kit backpacks stuffed with supplies. Inside the backpacks are medical-grade face masks, water pouches, bandages, flash light, duct tape, energy bar packs, toilet paper, rain poncho, whistle, light stick, and other items.

This is our third and last Wildfire Safety Fair for the year. The other two were held in Valley Center and Ramona, and together, these events drew more than 400 attendees.
