SDG&E Proud at San Diego Pride

This past Saturday, the San Diego neighborhood of Hillcrest was ablaze with vibrant colors and joyful expression as more than 100,000 people and 200 local and national brand sponsors joined the San Diego Pride Parade to recognize and celebrate our city’s diversity.

Hosted by non-profit organization, San Diego Pride, the 2017 LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) Pride Parade led participants on a 1.1 mile march to Balboa Park. Accompanied by intricately decorated floats, bold costumes and lively performances, sending a powerful message of solidarity. Among the marchers were 150+ SDG&E employees eagerly celebrating our commitment to diversity, inclusion and unity.

Walking Towards Equality

Not only did the Pride Parade give the LGBT community a chance to share their flare, it gave the entire San Diego community the opportunity to engage with their LGBT friends, family and neighbors to learn more about the importance—and beauty—of a unified San Diego.

Events like the San Diego Pride Parade are of utmost importance in creating a healthier, safer and prouder San Diego for everyone who calls America’s Finest City “home.” At SDG&E, we’re proud to support the LGBT community in their pursuit of equality, both within San Diego’s borders and beyond.
