Five years in the making, SDG&E’s “Skills City” – a mock mini-neighborhood in Mission Valley – is one of the most advanced training facilities in the industry. The state-of-the-art center, which houses a complete electric distribution system and natural gas lines, is used to simulate real-life emergency situations to teach employees how to safely and expertly detect and repair damage.
“This facility truly demonstrates SDG&E’s commitment to training our employees to be the best they can be,” said SDG&E field training manager Dan Stoneman. “Skills City allows students to master field operations skills in a controlled and safe environment.
