SDG&E issued the following media statement after the San Diego City Council reaffirmed its May 25 vote to approve new gas and electric franchise agreements with the company.
The City Council’s approval of these agreements instills a sense of trust in us that we will work hard to earn every day. Our 4,500 hardworking SDG&E employees, many of whom call the City of San Diego home, are honored to continue serving our community. We look forward to supporting the City’s renewable energy and clean air goals while promoting equity for every neighborhood. We do not take this opportunity lightly – and fully commit to build a bright energy future for all of San Diego.
