Movie in the Park

Concerts, Movies in the Park… So Many Fun Activities on Summer Nights!

Throughout the summer, local residents and families can take advantage of many free or low-cost activities that take place in the afternoon or evenings.  Summer Movies in the Park are underway and will go through October. All Summer Movies in the Park are FREE, although some sites do charge for parking so check for event details on this website before you head out.

SDG&E is a sponsor of Summer Movies in the Park, and our customer outreach team often sets up information tables prior to the start of movies to answer questions about our energy pricing plans and provide resources on how to save energy and money.

Many movie locations also offer additional entertainment, such as arts and crafts, bounce houses, games, and dancing. Sometimes food trucks stop by, offering a variety of tantalizing cuisine in case you don’t have time to pack a picnic.

Wait there is more… Aside from outdoor movies, it’s easy to find free concerts in neighborhood parks throughout the region from Santee to Point Loma to Carlsbad both during the week and on weekends. Bands play a wide range of musical genres, ranging from jazz to pop rock to zydeco to big band.

All you need to have a blast is a blanket or beach chair. Sit back, relax, people watch, enjoy the cool breezes outside, and stars in the night sky.
