Rev Up Your New Year with EV Day at the Auto Show

Did you know there are more than 35 plug-in electric vehicle (EV) models on the market today, including affordable models that can go more than 200 miles on a single charge?

Now is your once annual opportunity to check out all the latest EVs in one place at the San Diego International Auto Show at the San Diego Convention Center. At SDG&E, we’re excited to help kick off the yearly event with Electric Vehicle Day this Thursday, December 28.

Where Latest & Greatest Meets Cleanest & Greenest

This is the sixth year SDG&E is sponsoring the Think Blue Eco-Center—a special area dedicated to showcasing clean transportation innovations and technologies, including EVs, plug-in hybrids, standard hybrids and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Eco-Center visitors will have the opportunity to check out a variety of eco-friendly models, including everything from the Chrysler Pacifica hybrid minivan to plug-ins from Honda, Volvo and Kia.

Our experts will be on hand at the Eco-Center, as well as representatives from the California Center for Sustainable Energy and Think Blue, to answer questions about different vehicle types and the benefits of driving electric.

We’ve Got Answers and Resources!

We’ll be hosting EV 101 talks every hour on the half hour from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for all five days of the Auto Show to answer questions on all things EV-related, including:

The Eco-Center will be stocked with resources to learn more about clean transportation and other clean energy options, like our EcoChoice program, which allows customers to enroll to power their homes and businesses with up to 100 percent renewable energy, and our Champions for Clean Air Rebate, which offers teachers and first responders a $1,000 rebate to help offset the cost of leasing or buying a new EV.

Auto Show guests can also visit our kiosk to learn more about the newly updated EV Pricing Guide app, created through our partnership with Electric Car Insider.

For property managers looking to bring charging to their apartments, condos or business, be sure to ask about our Power Your Drive Program, which will install 3,500 charging stations throughout the region to support more drivers switching to EVs.
