Join Us at the Grand Avenue Festival in Escondido
The historic downtown of Escondido will be bustling with food and craft vendors, music entertainment, and dance performances this Sunday, as the Grand Avenue Festival gets underway.
While you are there, please stop by our clean transportation display, where our electric vehicle (EV) experts will answer questions and provide information about local, state and federal EV incentives, charging equipment, and local projects to advance zero-emission transportation.
The easiest way to spot our display is to look for our Nissan LEAF, which is wrapped in colorful branding with the messages “Power Your Drive” and “Electric Drive is Beautiful.” We will be at the intersection of Broadway and Grand, right in the middle of the festival.
Learn About the Benefits of Driving Electric at the Festival
For those who already drive an electric vehicle, there is still reason to stop by our booth. We will have information about the 2018 Electric Vehicle Climate Credit, a utility bill credit that is given each year to those who drive or lease a plug-in hybrid or all-electric vehicle. This bill credit is part of a statewide program administered by the California Air Resources Board to fight climate change by encouraging EV adoption.
The deadline to apply for this year’s credit is May 31, 2018. The EV Climate Credit was $200 last year. This year’s amount will depend on how many EV drivers in SDG&E’s service area (San Diego and southern Orange counties) apply for the credit and how much money is available to fund it.
The festival is sponsored by the Escondido Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business Association.
